Keep It Simple Sweety

I have been associated with so many friends, co workers, large family , people across generations that I am polishing my people skills with every passing day. This really may sound too philosophical but it did strike me hard that Life is really simple but our generation insists on making it complicated. Fundamentally we have lost the value of trust, value of true love and value of conversation. Small talk is indeed the new deep. Statements like , " I am almost slipping into depression", " I am snapping", " It really is a big deal", " I have a situation", " I am into mess" comes out of us as easily as they could. We don't think twice before blurting OCD, ADHD, BIPOLAR etc. Dude it really is a big deal. Those words and phrases are indeed big words. We are hyperventilating. The fault is there completely because we do not " Let Go !!". Conversations have been replaced by texting, arguments have been replaced by phone...

Princess Forever !

Daughters are a blessing...... Oh No ! I am not writing some feminism flavored post. Honestly speaking I am no where close to being a feminist. Just that respect is mutual. Be it for a man or a woman. Anyways, this is dedicated to those fathers who have daughters. Why this of everything???? Because the bond between a father and a daughter is special..very special....been there and done that ! Very aptly it is said that.... "   You may or may not become the queen of your house but you will always be a princess for your father." For a girl, chivalry is first from the father and it is the father who shows her the realities of life and also guards her from the harshness of life. For a girl, the mother may be her best friend but father is the example that she silently follows. I completely agree that a woman's opinion about life, self esteem, confidence , self image , opinion about men, gets influenced by her father. From my personal dossier, I wish to...

You are beautiful....!!!!

Women really were not created to do what a man can do, but to do what a man cannot do. Our generation is so busy proving that women are no lesser than men,and hence we are losing our uniqueness. I read this famous quote by Jenny Laydon, that says, " Being a good woman doesn't have to look a certain way". We really are wasting time talking about this certain " Feminism", but the point is that...how can two different creations in their own way, compete towards being alike. True that there was a lot of suppression, but cant we just leave all the unpalatable things behind and march for a better tomorrow? I just thought , I should pen down a few things about " we the women ", 1. To all the working women and mom's , who are working full time , just to provide their family  and kids more than the basic necessities of life, managing house, family, kids, being independent, and never giving a damn about someone who stops by, asking ," Do you have...

Rendezvous with Mylapore along with my boys :-)

Courtesy :mylaporefestival.com Like always I was wondering what to do to let the weekend fly away again. My husband had announced that Saturday was a working day for him.Friday somehow passed with a few friends dropping by and on Saturday I decided I will make my boys enjoy a bus trip to Mylapore. Adyar is very well connected by bus to Mylapore. So, since this constant buzz about the festival started , I have been tempted to go and see the Mylapore festival. Both my boys were thrilled to take a bus trip. I was slightly apprehensive about the crowd but then decided to take the plunge. Accompanied ny anothe friend ( who has two kids again !!!), we took the bus ride upto the temple tank. As I had expected , both Tejasvi and Yashasvi were thrilled and had a good time travelling in the bus. We got down near the temple tank and started walking . There was this push cart which sold some mouth watering pani puri's. The child in me was tempted but the mom in me was not...

Shoe -string-budget-holiday- with my boys: )

Ok so this cannot actually be categorized under a write up, but then the fact that managing kids during vacations seems like OMG !!! kind of a feel...I decided to share my vacation diary. Realized its not that a tough task too. Being a mom with boys aged 6 and 3.5, and a spouse who did not have a choice but work through even weekends, I make sure they get a good and a well balanced environment to grow up..not as intelligent men but as well balanced men..and I believe intelligence shall follow. Ok so this year..fabulously my spouse announced that his weekends are going to be eaten up at work. I had this pretty long break from 23rd Dec'2015 to 4th Jan'2016. The day his school closed for vacations on 23rd, my first born came and asked...So amma what next ??!!!...........and hence starts my vacation diary.. Day 1 ( 23rd December ) : Half a day spent at school, gift shopping after school, birthday party in the evening....day well spent...lots of friends and frolicking...b...
