Keep It Simple Sweety
I have been associated with so many friends, co workers, large family , people across generations that I am polishing my people skills with every passing day. This really may sound too philosophical but it did strike me hard that Life is really simple but our generation insists on making it complicated. Fundamentally we have lost the value of trust, value of true love and value of conversation.
Small talk is indeed the new deep. Statements like , " I am almost slipping into depression", " I am snapping", " It really is a big deal", " I have a situation", " I am into mess" comes out of us as easily as they could. We don't think twice before blurting OCD, ADHD, BIPOLAR etc. Dude it really is a big deal. Those words and phrases are indeed big words. We are hyperventilating. The fault is there completely because we do not " Let Go !!".
Conversations have been replaced by texting, arguments have been replaced by phone calls and feelings are status updates. It should be like we have nothing at all or we have too much of all. When it comes to being in between the two is when it gets tough. We may be in a storm but the trick is not let the storm get in. We love bragging about being socially awakward, cutting people off, not trusting anyone, like it was an accomplishment . And we offer nothing to everyone but our own cofusion decorated on a platter of flashy linguistics.
To simplify the above things, living life is not a big deal, living in a family ( also joint family ) is not a big deal, raising kids is not a big deal, having arguments is not a big deal, working hard is not a big deal, speaking your mind is not a big deal. It really is not that big an achievement. It is a god gifted life that we have to keep living and contribute a little to the next generation and then buzz off. Every day is a new chapter and struggles and ease are the right spice and sugar. Absorb what is bestowed and let go to feel light and nurture memories.
Just keep it simple sweety !!!
Crisp and to the point. Thanks for sharing the article.
ReplyDeleteAgreed that we are making a big deal of everything. May be also because we have lost what is the purpose of life. If we set a big target, all small things coming in way of will not given the importance and focus that we give.
Keep it simple. Aim high. Have a wonderful year ahead.
Thanks Ji.
DeleteAgree. We trivialise the important things in life like the personal touch and honesty in conversations and blow up really trivial things. A balanced mind and one with the right set of priorities will keep it "simple".
ReplyDeleteGood one Sandhya! As we all know its easier said than one implement them. Keeping your thought in mind, this is not a big deal to follow though!!😋
ReplyDeleteThe western influence of making a big deal of everything right before they appear as businesses is catching up here too.
