Dear Son....

A lot has been debated, written and spoken about equality, women's liberation , gender bias, feminism and what not. Recent events of debauchery against women have also gathered enough moss and every individual is ranting that either the men are carnivores or the women are immoral. But my boy, as your mother , I have a few things to tell you , a few things you must understand......
A woman is not an entertainment package and it really is none of your business to police her. Her mother or father are enough to do that. Her clothes may be provocative or not ( that's a different debate altogether !!!) , It is none of your point to ponder or gather cheap and lechy fun. There are umpteen other means of frivoliting. My boy, you were not brought up to feel pompous, feel superior but were brought up to value every significant entity around you with respect and regard. Sensitivity is what should be synonymous to you. Sensitive men are indeed awesome. Sensitive men are always pursued.
My dear boy, the day thou shall understand the value of women who shaped you up , the day thou shall realize that " the man of the house " is  the man, only when he has a woman to make him a feel a man enough, you will save the face of men , who are caught and who are judged right now by the umpteen women.
As a mother of two boys, I have this huge responsibility my boy to shape you into introspective individual , sensitive and accommodative gentlemen , who make women feel awesome to walk along you with their head held up high, and like it is rightly said..." Where the mind is without fear".

    Very true......our culture has always worshipped women as "Shakti", the universal mother and not as objects of lust. But somewhere sometimes the women themselves have not identified themselves with the goddess within them. I am sure my boys will be better gentlemen with you as their mom...i am at peace as the boys are under your watchful care.

    Yes moulding the next generation of boys is the best way to protect the next generation of girls.Sensitive is really the apt word.Though its looked down as a weakness by many.Sensible ones will understand that its a virtue.

    It is odd, these same men have been borne inside a woman for nine months and they are not sensitive to the inner strength and beauty of their MIND!

Feminism a misinterpreted definition...

I was waiting at the Adyar signal to cross the road,  and I noticed a ragged woman with hardly any garment on her to hide her modesty, standing and knocking at the window of a plush car. Driving the car was a ravishing , seemingly well educated , well bred and "independent " woman. The signal timer still showed 45secs more for the light to turn green. What apalled was that neither did the woman stop begging nor did the other lady have the patience and heart to give her a penny. Another old lady who was walking by stopped and fed this ragged woman with water and gave her a 10. The ragged woman walked away happy and relieved.  Although I have never advocated feminism strongly , I have always felt that definitely our mothers and grandmothers were victims of inequality and gender bias and they did give up what they could have nurtured. I am not a woman trying be a man, I am a woman ...A beautiful woman-inside out !!!

In my previous post I had spoken about how duties and daily chores are not gender specific  and how we should stop glorifying them this post goes into further details of the gender jokes. The biggest disservice we do to women is telling them that they are equal to men. We fail to prepare them for their reality and, by doing so, we set them up for a lifetime of struggle, disappointment and misery. Lets stop that at least with our daughters.Men and women are not equal -- they are different. Like apples and oranges.  This whole bringing-up-your-daughters-the-way-you'd-bring-up-your-sons business is farce. When did we decide that there is an ideal human being prototype and it's "Male? Why is no one bringing up their sons like they'd bring up their daughters?"Somewhere in this gender war , this sexist quote also has gotten into the rut.
